ASH WEDNESDAY
With Ash Wednesday:
  - the season of Lent begins
  - the solemnisation of marriage ceases until Easter
  - the time for fulfilling Easter Duties begins
  - some form of mortification or penance should be practiced

CONVERTS' AID SOCIETY
The collection made last Sunday amounted to £48 6s 8d.  This was an increase over last year.  We give very grateful thanks for this result.

LEGION OF MARY
The
Legion of Mary has a Hostess Bingo tonight after Devotions.  Everyone is welcome.

SAINT ANNE'S GUILD

Saint Anne's Guild members please note that the bus for Maybole on Monday evening will leave
Stanley School at 6.00 pm prompt.  The Guild meeting will be as usual on Tuesday evening at 7.30 pm.  The committee would like to thank all the members who contributed in any way to the very successful evening last Tuesday on the occasion of Canon Fischer’s presentation.

PAROCHIAL COMMITTEE
There will be a Film Show in the Parochial Hall next Sunday, 12 February after Evening Devotions.  This will include excerpts from the Presentation of Robes to Canon Fischer, tape recordings of the concert and speeches and films of parochial and local interest.  The admission cost is 1/6 for adults and 9d for children.  Collection envelopes in aid of the Nursing Sisters have been distributed.  These will be collected by Sunday 19 February.  Please be as generous as always.  The date of the annual Bingo Evening will be announced soon.  Donations of prizes will be gratefully received.

SAINT PETER'S ASSOCIATION
Record Hops will recommence on Sunday 19 February at
7.30 pm.  Admission costs 1/-.  Membership is limited to Saint Peter's Parish but members may bring a friend from a neighbouring parish.  A dance has been arranged in the Hotel Kilmeny on Friday 17 February from 8.00 to 12.00 pm.  Tickets cost 6/- and are available from committee members of at the door.
