PETER'S PENCE
There will be a collection at all Masses next weekend for Peter's Pence.

SAINT VINCENT DE PAUL COFFEE MORNING
The members of the Saint Peter's Conference of the Society of Saint Vincent de Paul thank everyone who contributed to the success of the recent Coffee Morning. The grand total of £1050 was raised and will be sent to the Society's Tsunami Relief Fund.

FATHER MICHAEL LYNCH ANNIVERSARY
The first anniversary Mass of Father Lynch's death will be celebrated on Saturday 2 July at 12 noon. Bishop Cunningham and the priests of the diocese have been invited. Tea and coffee will be served in the Parish Centre after Mass.

REBUILDING THE PRESBYTERY
The delay in rebuilding the presbytery is due to Historic Scotland raising objections to the presbytery's proximity to our Grade A Listed church. It is looking for unrestricted views of the church along South Crescent. For the architect and our property manager this is an almost impossible task. The Planning Department is unable to grant Planning Permission until the matter is resolved. Hopefully, the many meetings now taking place should resolve the matter very soon and building can begin before the winter.

104 BARRIE TERRACE
The Clerical Friendly Society, a fund established to assist priests through times of sickness and hardship, is buying 104 Barrie Terrace, Ardrossan as part of its investment portfolio and will rent it to our Insurance Company until the presbytery can be rebuilt. The income of the Friendly Society is safeguarded and there is a house which can be let to a retired priest later on. The Society owns the house Father Mancini has in Dumfries and owned the house Father Kerr had in Saltcoats. Father Matt looks forward to moving to Ardrossan early in July when the house in Barrie Terrace should be ready.

MUSIC MINISTRY MEETING
The meeting of the Music Ministry has been rearranged for Thursday 23 June at 7.45 pm in the Parish Centre.

SAINT ANDREW'S ACADEMY XL CLUB CHARITY AUCTION
Saint Andrew's Academy XL Club is running a charity auction on Monday 20 June at 7.30 pm in Ardrossan Youth Centre, next to Stanley School, in aid of the Meningitis Trust (Scotland), the Stillbirth and Neonatal Death Society (SANDS) and the Oncology Ward at Ayr Hospital.

HOLY LAND PILGRIMAGE:
A Pilgrimage to the Holy Land has been arranged for March 2006. The eight day pilgrimage, costs £688 for half board with a single room supplement of £70). Further information can be obtained by telephoning Bishop Taylor or emailing administration@gallowaydiocese.org.uk.

CARFIN LOURDES GROTTO
Information on the Carfin Lourdes Grotto, Scotland's National Shrine to Our Lady, is on a poster on notice board.

Blessed indeed is the man who hears many gentle voices call him father!

Any man can be a father - it takes someone special to be a dad.

Daddy, I love you for all that you do.
I'll kiss you and hug you 'cause you love me too.
You feed me and need me to teach you to play
so smile 'cause I love on this Father's Day.

READINGS
The readings for this weekend's Masses are shown below in English. They are available in eleven other languages
including French, German, Italian, Polish and Spanish by clicking on this link.

First Reading
I hear so many disparaging me, terror from every side! Denounce him! Let us denounce him! All those who used to be my friends watched for my downfall, perhaps he will be seduced into error. Then we will master him and take our revenge! But the Lord is at my side, a mighty hero; my opponents will stumble, mastered, confounded by their failure; everlasting, unforgettable disgrace will be theirs. But you, Lord of Hosts, you who probe with justice, who scrutinise the loins and heart, let me see the vengeance you will take on them, for I have committed my cause to you. Sing to the Lord, praise the Lord, for he has delivered the soul of the needy from the hands of evil men.

Second Reading
Sin entered the world through one man, and through sin death, and thus death has spread through the whole human race because everyone has sinned. Sin existed in the world long before the Law was given. There was no law and so no one could be accused of the sin of 'law-breaking', yet death reigned over all from Adam to Moses, even though their sin, unlike that of Adam, was not a matter of breaking a law. Adam prefigured the One to come, but the gift itself considerably outweighed the fall. If it is certain that through one man's fall so many died, it is even more certain that divine grace, coming through the one man, Jesus Christ, came to so many as an abundant free gift.

Gospel
Jesus instructed the Twelve as follows: 'Do not be afraid. For everything that is now covered will be uncovered, and everything now hidden will be made clear. What I say to you in the dark, tell in the daylight; what you hear in whispers, proclaim from the housetops. 'Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul; fear him rather who can destroy both body and soul in hell. Can you not buy two sparrows for a penny? And yet not one falls to the ground without your Father knowing. Why, every hair on your head has been counted. So there is no need to be afraid; you are worth more than hundreds of sparrows. 'So if anyone declares himself for me in the presence of men, I will declare myself for him in the presence of my Father in heaven. But the one who disowns me in the presence of men, I will disown in the presence of my Father in heaven.'
