- there was a fault with the photocopier.
HMS DASHER
Many thanks to
the volunteer caterers who supplied tea and coffee to the 160 or so people who
came to the Parish Centre after the Dasher Memorial Service. The ladies were asked
to cater for about 60!
PARISH OFFICE
The Parish Office will be closed during Easter Week. Father
John will be in residence for any calls. Father
Matt will be away from home. Weekday Masses will be at the usual times.
SAINT
VINCENT DE PAUL SOCIETY
The
Ozanam Centre in Glasgow is run by the Saint
Vincent de Paul Society to assist homeless men and women. We have been asked
to assist in the collection of toiletries during Lent so these might be distributed
as a very practical way of assisting those who use the Centre. Saint Peter's parishioners
have donated generously to this appeal in previous years and it is hoped that
you will do so once again. The Conference thanks you in anticipation of your kind
assistance. A box to receive donations of all kinds of toiletries will be available
in the Church Porch during Lent.
KITS
FOR KIDS
Kits For Kids tokens can be collected from the Sunday Mail and Daily
Record and placed in the box in the porch. James Reid School, Saltcoats is this
area's school.
SAINT
VINCENT DE PAUL SOCIETY CALL LINE
As from Saturday 24 March, requests for
assistance from the Saint Peter's Conference of the Saint
Vincent de Paul Society may be made directly to mobile phone number 07722

a telephone number. A member of the Conference will be in touch with them as soon

God
Life - what a great way to live and it's possible, not in ourselves, but in Him.
Won't you allow Him this week to show you His resurrection love in all its fullness?
Live in His fatherhood, His faithfulness and His forgiveness - and know real life
is yours for the asking. It's Easter time--live in His Resurrection love and have
a wonderful week!
Tuesday
Clean is
clean - depending on who's speaking! If it's my sons claiming they've 'cleaned'
their rooms, clean is not clean in Mum's eyes ... and when they hung him on the
cross, he was not clean either. He was a thief condemned to die - but not for
long. For during those excruciating hours, he recognised someone hanging next
to Him who in a split second of time would forever change his sentence - not man's
but God's. Men still saw him as the dirty thief. Jesus saw him as a clean child
of God. That's grace - God's amazing grace!
Wednesday
Lord,
I cannot comprehend the pain of the Cross. I can only cling to that blessed Cross
in my own times of pain, knowing that you know, fully and completely, the pain
that I experience. I come in adoration. I bow in acceptance of Your awesome love
and grace this day. In Jesus Name, Amen.
Thursday
Lord,
on this memorable day, I come face to face with my own unforgiveness. I kneel
before Thy Cross and give you all the anguish, hurt, bitterness and pain I've
held in my heart for so long. Take it all and grant me forgiveness; give me compassion
for the one who's harmed me - and help me, by Your Grace, to forgive completely
- as you did me on Calvary's Cross. In Jesus Name, Amen.
Friday
TGIF
under normal circumstances, means 'Thank God, it's Friday!'. We smile, relax and
look forward to a much-needed weekend break. Well, today is Friday, but it's no
'normal' Friday. It is Good Friday, the day we commemorate our Lord's death on
the Cross. Let us acknowledge this day with holy awareness and heart-felt thanksgiving
... for it's Friday ... and He's faithful! It's Friday ... and He's forgiving!
It's Friday ... and He's my Friend! All because of the Cross; all because on that
momentous day in history when He defeated sin, death and hell forevermore. Our
Lord came face to face with His foe - and ours. He has 'bruised the serpent's
head' and He's become our conquering King! We can shout today, wherever we are
and wherever we go, Thank God, it's finished!

NEED TO REMEMBER
Remember
that your presence is a present to the world.
Remember that you are a unique
and unrepeatable creation.
Remember that your life can be what you want it
to be.
Remember to take the days just one at a time.

Isaiah
50:4-7
The
Lord has given me a disciple's tongue. So that I may know how to reply to the
wearied he provides me with speech. Each morning he wakes me to hear, to listen
like a disciple. The Lord Yahweh has opened my ear. For my part, I made no resistance,
neither did I turn away. I offered my back to those who struck me, my cheeks to
those who tore at my beard; I did not cover my face against insult and spittle.
The Lord comes to my help, so that I am untouched by the insults. So, too, I set
my face like flint; I know I shall not be shamed.

Reading
Philippians
2:6-11
His
state was divine, yet he did not cling to his equality with God but emptied himself
to assume the condition of a slave, and became as men are; and being as all men
are, he was humbler yet, even to accepting death, death on a cross. But God raised
him high and gave him the name which is above all other names so that all beings
in the heavens, on the earth and in the underworld, should bend the knee at the
name of Jesus and that every tongue should acclaim Jesus Christ as Lord, to the
glory of the Father.
