BANKER'S ORDERS, GIFT AID AND WILLS

In order to ensure the pilgrimage is a success, the group is in urgent need of trained nurses and carers to work as part of a medical team caring for the sick pilgrims of our diocese. PRAY ONLINE WITH EASTER PODCASTS
People and priests of the parish communities in the South Ayrshire part of our Diocese have recorded a 'Thought for the Day' style reflection for each of the fifty days of the Easter season, from Easter Sunday through to Pentecost Sunday. Each day’s reflection lasts up to six minutes and includes a reading from the Mass of the day followed by the reflection especially prepared by each contributor. There is quiet music in the background to help reflection and prayer. The podcasts can be downloaded on the days of Eastertide from
www.EasterPodcasts.co.uk and will become available as the days of the Easter season pass. It is hoped that the podcasts provide a focus for prayer during Eastertide and that they fulfil Christ’s command to “Go out to the whole world and proclaim the Good News”.

CHILDREN’S LITURGY
We are in need of more volunteers for the Children’s Liturgy for the coming August session. As it takes a little time to gain disclosure, we need to think ahead. Please consider becoming a volunteer, especially if your child is currently in Primary 3 as they will be taking part in the Sacramental Preparation next year or if your child will be joining our Pre-5 Liturgy Group in August. If you are interested, please contact the Parish Office on 464063 or Annie Watt.

RACE NIGHT
Saint Peter’s Primary School Parent Council is hosting a Race Night and Disco on Saturday 16 May at 7.30pm. Tickets cost £5 and include a buffet. All donations are welcome. Please contact Michelle.

THE STALL
Our courteous and friendly stall staff are thereto help. This week's bargains include a free 2009 diary with every purchase while stocks last and a good selection of Confirmation and First Communion gifts.

IN YOUR THIRTIES?
There is a group for Catholics in their thirties. It organises a variety of social and spiritual events in Glasgow and the West of Scotland as well as walks, weekends away, holidays, pilgrimages and retreats. If you would like to find out more about the group you are invited to a Newcomers' Mass on Saturday 9 May at 7.00 pm at the Convent of Mercy, 62 Hill Street, Glasgow, G3 6RH. Please use the entrance and parking at the back, off Scott Street. Drinks are available afterwards. There is no need to book - just turn up. To receive The Thirties programmes and get involved, email Father Hugh Hanley SCJ on
hugh@project2030.fsnet.co.uk.

VOCATIONS SUNDAY
Vocatiions Sunday is on 3 May. Have you ever considered life as a priest in Scotland? Is this an idea that has been at the back of your mind for some time? Is it time to spend just a few hours exploring the Lord’s call? A retreat has been arranged for anyone considering a call to diocesan priesthood. The purpose of this overnight experience is simply to bring like-minded individuals together for prayer, reflection and relaxation. The offer to come and join us is made at no cost and without obligation - simply come and see. This event will take place on 29 and 30 May in the Dunkeld Pastoral Centre, Dundee. Please contact Priests for Scotland on 0141 554 6936 to arrange accommodation.

PROTECTION OF CHILDREN AND VULNERABLE ADULTS - MISSION STATEMENT
The Catholic Church in Scotland is concerned with the lives, safety, wholeness and well-being of each individual person within God's purpose for everyone. It seeks to safeguard the welfare of people of all ages who are involved in whatever capacity
with the Church and its organisations. As a Church community, we accept that it is the responsibility of all of us, ordained, professed, paid and voluntary members, to work together to prevent the physical, sexual, emotional abuse or neglect of children, young people and vulnerable adults.
