OFFERTORY COLLECTION
Last weekend's Offertory collection amounted to £669.73. We are grateful
for your generous support of the Parish. Banker's Orders amount to an average
of £4000 per month.
BANKER'S ORDERS, GIFT AID AND WILLS
Have
you thought of using a Bankers Order? It assists us with the safe handling of
cash. Have you signed a Gift Aid Form? If you pay tax, then every £1 you
give to the Parish is worth £1.28 to us. Would you consider remembering
Saint Peter's in your will? The recession is hitting everyone. Thanks for the
support you manage to give the Parish.
PARISH
CENTRE COLLECTION
Last weekend's collection for the Parish Centre amounted
to £290.03 - many thanks.
RETIRED
PRIESTS' COLLECTION
A special collection for the Retired Priests Fund will
be taken on 26 and 27 September. Gift Aid envelopes are available at the back
of the Church.

RCIA
gives an introduction to the belief and practices of the Catholic Church to those
who want to know about it or those who want to re-find it. There will be an introductory
meeting in the Presbytery on Tuesday 6 October at 7.30 pm. Everyone is welcome
to come along. It is a journey that leads to Easter.

involved in Confirmation and First Communion on Thursday 1 October at 7.30 pm.

at 10.00 am on Sunday 11 October. The following Sunday the children begin a programme
in the Parish Centre during the first part of the Sunday 10.00 am Mass.
ITALIAN
NIGHT
The Italian Night is booked to take place on Friday 27 November. It
is mostly a sell-out but due to some cancellations we have a few tickets available.
If you would like to book a ticket, please call the Parish Office on 464063.

on finance, banking and justice in our society, is now published. It can be purchased
at the stall for the discounted price of £1.
CROSSHOUSE HOSPITAL
You
can contact Reverend Deacon Gordon Tustin on 07515 698 180 to notify him if you
or a family member is going into Crosshouse. The hospital is unable do it. A message
will be passed on. If you or a family member is housebound, please let us know.
Unless told, we don’t know about it.
HELP FOR THE SOLDIERS IN AFGHANISTAN
Thank
you for all your kind donations to our shoebox parcel appeal. We now have enough
to fill the next delivery of boxes. As our next delivery is going to arrive at
Christmas time, we are looking for small Christmas things to put into them. We
would ask if anyone would like to write a card or letter, donate any writing materials,
give a small Christmas pudding or any other small Christmas item. We would greatly
appreciate it. Thanks.
CHILDREN’S LITURGY
The Children's Liturgy will
continue at 10.00 am Mass for the Preschool Group and the Primary 1 to 3 Group.
Please note the Primary 4 Liturgy has not begun yet and we will ask any Primary
4 children that come through with the younger children to return to the Church.
We only have a limited number of volunteers for each group. Also can we ask that
children do not bring toys or sweets as this is unfair to other children. Thank
you for your help.
PARISH REGISTRATION
We still do not have an up-to-date
register of Parishioners - even those who come to Mass. Many of you have filled
in the little green forms - thanks - and that is all you have to do. Some haven’t
got round to it yet and we would be grateful if you would do it. The Parish website
has a link for you to forward
your name, address and phone number.
NEW LICENSING LAWS
Due to the new
laws, a drinks license for the Parish Centre must be obtained 28 days in advance.
If children are to be present, then the number of children must be noted on the
application form. There can be no exceptions to the legislation. Please keep this
in mind if you wish to use the Parish Centre. We are unable to get a licence at
short notice.
PARISH CENTRE
The Parish Centre is available for functions.
Please phone Michael or Fiona on 606424 for information and booking forms. Booking
conditions must be strictly adhered to.
SAINT
ANNE'S GUILD
Saint
Anne's Guild meets in the Parish Centre at 7.00 pm every Tuesday.
New members are welcome.
CHILD AND ADULT PROTECTION CONFERENCE
Child
and vulnerable adult protection is very important to the Diocese and is good practice.
A Child and Vulnerable Adult Protection Conference will be held on Wednesday 23
September in Saint Paul’s Hall, Ayr. The evening will explore the role of the
Parish Coordinator. The Police and counsellors will talk on sexual abuse and managing
risk. Any parishioner who is interested is welcome to come along.
DIOCESAN
APPOINTMENTS
The Bishop has announced the following appointments to take place
over September and October:
-
Father Joe Boland to Saint Bride’s, West Kilbride
- Father
Martin Chambers to St Matthew’s, Kilmarnock, the Youth Office and Hospital Chaplaincy
-
Father William McFadden to Saint Andrew’s and Saint Cuthbert’s, Kirkcudbright
-
Father Jim Hayes to stay in St Mary’s, Saltcoats and become Director of the Youth

NURSERY GARDEN
Please note that the Nursery Garden
is not to be used as a playground on a Sunday morning. The Nursery spends a lot
of time, effort and money to maintain the garden. Also we ask that children do
not climb on either the lampposts, Nursery fence, bins or the wall in the car
park. Thank you.
BROWNIES AND GUIDES BINGO
The Brownies and Guides are
having a Bingo Night in aid of the Parish Centre on Thursday 1 October. Doors
open at 6.30 pm for a 7.00 pm start. Tickets can be purchased at the door. Raffle
tickets and refreshments will be available. Everyone is welcome to come along.
PROTECTION
OF CHILDREN AND VULNERABLE ADULTS - MISSION STATEMENT
The Catholic Church
in Scotland is concerned with the lives, safety, wholeness and well-being of each
individual person within God's purpose for everyone. It seeks to safeguard the
welfare of people of all ages who are involved in whatever capacity with
the Church and its organisations. As a Church community, we accept that it is
the responsibility of all of us, ordained, professed, paid and
voluntary members, to work together to prevent the physical, sexual, emotional
abuse or neglect of children, young people and vulnerable adults.
