BANKER'S ORDERS

GIFT AID
Gift Aid is a vital source of income. All that is needed is that you pay tax. You simply declare that you give funds to the Church. We do the rest. Why not sign a form today? We get back an extra 25p for every £1 you give the Church in your weekly collection or by way of a donation. There is no need to cancel or renew it. We simply claim in the income we receive.

WILLS
Would you consider remembering Saint Peter's in your will?

CHURCH REPAIRS
The help you give for Church repairs by dropping in a white envelope from time to time is invaluable. Recent donations of £35 bring the total to £4644.50. This will offset the painting of the Church but we still have a fair bit more to do.

READERS
Next weekend's readers are Celia Andrew at 5.30 pm and Robert Cooper at 10.30 am.

YEAR OF FAITH
An adult education course for the Year of Faith will be held in Saint Bride’s, West Kilbride on some Thursday evenings from 7.30 to 9.00 pm. The next session on 24 January 2013 is A Modern Church in a Modern World by Dr Theodora Hawksley. A leaflet is available. Pope Benedict has called on all Catholics to celebrate a Year of Faith from October 2012 to October 2013. It is a time to renew our faith by prayer, by studying our faith and by renewed charity. It is something we can all do both privately and publically. Our country has lost its faith and its way. We each must play our part in renewing faith in God’s goodness and His word. The Year of Faith Diary is available at the stall. It runs from October 2012 to October 2013 and will be useful. It costs £2.95. To mark the Year of Faith, the Bishops of Scotland have set up a special website and social media feeds to help us learn about all that is happening at local, national and international level and to assist us to grow in faith during this time of grace. The address is www.YearOfFaithScotland.com In addition, special services will be provided via Facebook and Twitter, offering news, points for reflection and ideas on how to mark the Year of Faith. Please consider following www.facebook.com/yearoffaithscotland and www.twitter.com/scotyearoffaith.

SCOTTISH CHURCHES STARTER PACKS
Starter Packs is an initiative of the Scottish Churches organised locally by Women's Aid. When people are allocated a house, they very often don’t have the basic necessities and many tenancies fail as a result. This initiative tries to provide a starter pack. There is a leaflet explaining our part in it.

AN EVENING WITH HENRIK LARSSON
Canon Matt has two £100 tickets for a Dinner and Evening with Henrik Larsson in the Thistle Hotel, Glasgow on Saturday 5 January 2013. The tickets are being raffled as a pair. There are only sixty chances at £10 for Church funds. There is a sheet at the stall with only six tickets left.

50/50 CLUB
Many thanks to all our members who have supported the Club over many years. Our Sign-Up Sunday is on 20 January 2013 when members have the opportunity to renew their membership and we welcome any new members who wish to join at this time by contacting the Promoter, Myriame Sammons on 469006.

VISITORS
Are you visiting us for Mass? Please know that you are very welcome. During the 10.30 am Mass outwith holidays, there is a Children’s Liturgy provided for preschool children, children in Primaries 1 to 3 and a Sacramental Programme for children in Primary 4. After the 10.30 am Mass, tea, coffee cakes and buns are available in the Parish Centre. At both of our weekend Masses, we have a second collection for our Parish Centre debt.

Our advertisers would welcome your support. We are grateful for their continuing sponsorship. We are grateful for the support of Mr and Mrs Sohal, Nisa Stores, Glasgow Street for the weekly donation of tea, coffee and milk for the Sunday teas.

THANKS
Grateful thanks to Saint Clare for favours received. May the Sacred Heart of Jesus be praised, adored and glorified and loved today and every day throughout the world, Amen. DJ
