FINANCES
Bankers Orders for the parish and Parish Centre amount to £3800 per month. Every month, we pay a levy of £1450 to the Diocese. We are grateful for your generous support in collections. If you can manage a little more from time to time, it would be a great help. Have you thought of using a Bankers Order? It assists us with the safe handling of cash. Banker's Orders for the Parish and Centre amount to an average of £3800 per month. Forms are available. Would you consider remembering Saint Peter's in your will?

OFFERTORY COLLECTION
Last weekend's Offertory collection amounted to £768.32 - many thanks.

MAINTENANCE FUND COLLECTION
Last weekend's Maintenance Fund collection amounted to £273.98 - many thanks.

GIFT AID
The Inland Revenue now requires us to use a new style of Gift Aid form. These are available at the back of the Church and on the parish website. If you pay tax, please complete the new form and return it to the box provided. This allows us to provide the additional information required on the Gift Aid claim. Gift Aid is a vital source of income. All that is needed is that you pay tax. You simply declare that you give funds to the Church. We do the rest. Why not sign a form today? We get back an extra 25p for every £1 you give the Church in your weekly collection or by way of a donation. There is no need to cancel or renew it. We simply claim in the income we receive.

COLLECTION ENVELOPES
New collection envelopes are now available at the stall. Please let us know if you wish to switch to a standing order. Forms are available.

READERS

OUR NEW BISHOP
Our new Bishop - appointed by Pope Francis on 22 November and in charge from that day, but yet to be ordained a Bishop - is Father William Nolan currently parish priest of Our Lady of Lourdes Parish, East Kilbride. His ordination will take place on Saturday 14 February in the Grand Hall, Kilmarnock at 11.00 am. None of our Churches is big enough. We will try to organise a bus. Bishop John Cunningham retired on 22 November but will stay till Bishop-elect Nolan is ordained.

CARITAS
Caritas is the Leadership and Service programme launched by the Scottish Bishops in response to the invitation of Pope Benedict. It is now fully adopted by Saint Matthew's Academy. Nine of our young parishioners have signed up for the programme. They will make themselves known as the year goes on. Watch for details. The Caritas Group have planned a few activities. Some will help with the Children’s Liturgy, some will read in Church and some will become special ministers of the Eucharist at Sunday Mass. A Fair Trade Group will get moving soon and the group will support the next Handicapped Children’s Pilgrimage to Lourdes by organising a coffee morning or some such. There is great enthusiasm for the Caritas Award but also for service to the community. Watch the website for updates.
