in Saint Peter's are 5.30 pm Vigil and 10.30 am. Sunday
Mass times in other local parishes can be
seen here.

HOSPITAL
CHAPLAINCY
If a member of your family or a friend is sick, please let us know and give
us the details. Deacon Bill Corbett (01292 521208, 07904 248948, Rev.BillCorbett@btinternet.com)
is the chaplain to Crosshouse Hospital and is assisted by the priest on call
each week. Canon Pat Keegans (01292 263488) is the chaplain to Ayr Hospital
and the Ayrshire Hospice.
FINANCES
Bankers Orders for the Parish and Parish Centre amount to £3800 per
month. Every month, we pay a levy of £1450 to the Diocese. We are grateful
for your generous support in collections. If you can manage a little more
from time to time, it would be a great help. A Standing Order would make the
handling of money so much easier. Have you signed a Gift Aid form? If you
are a taxpayer the Church would get 25p added to every £1 you donate.
COLLECTIONS
Last weekend's Offertory collection amounted to £654.46 and the the
Church Students' collection to £668.49 - many thanks.
GIFT AID
The Inland Revenue now requires us to use a new style of Gift
Aid form. These are available at the back of the Church and on the parish
website. If you pay tax, please complete the new form and return it to the
box provided. This allows us to provide the additional information required
on the Gift Aid claim. Gift Aid is a vital source of income. All that is needed
is that you pay tax. You simply declare that you give funds to the Church.
We do the rest. Why not sign a form today? We get back an extra 25p for every
£1 you give the Church in your weekly collection or by way of a donation.
There is no need to cancel or renew it. We simply claim in the income we receive.
PARISH RECORDS
Our parish records are covered by the Data Protection Act and are for parish
use only. We cannot give out phone numbers or addresses. Please help us to
keep our records up to date using the cards provided.
READERS
Next weekend's readers are Julie Coldwell and Gemma Coldwell
at 5.30 pm and Tom Reid and Sarah Vallance
at 10.30 am.
ALTAR SERVERS
Next weekend's altar servers are Group 1 at 5.30
pm and Group 5 at 10.30 am.
CHILDREN’S
LITURGY
The
Children's Liturgy is celebrated during the 10.30 am Mass each Sunday. All
children are welcome. Next week's helpers are Jacqueline Waugh and
Emily Tarbet for the pre-fives, Michelle Morton, Gayle Paterson and
Heather Barbeau for primaries 1, 2 and 3 and Maria Paterson-Kidd and
Gemma Coldwell for primary 4.
SUNDAY
TEAS
Next Sunday's teas will be served by Sharon McLaughlin's
team.
Would you consider making a team or joining a team that organises the teas
and coffees after Sunday 10.30 am Mass? If so, please leave your details at
the Parish Office or telephone 01294 464063.
THE HOLY SEASON OF LENT
We are in the holy season of Lent. The Mass vestments are purple, the Gloria
and the Alleluia are omitted from the Liturgy but the biggest change must
be in ourselves. This is the Springtime - Lent of the soul. It is a time for
fasting, for prayer and for almsgiving. The little Scottish Catholic Internation
Aid Fund (SCIAF) boxes are available for you to use. Every £1 given
to SCIAF is being doubled by the Government this year and if you gave your
contribution by cheques and accompanied by your name and address then SCIAF
can claim the Gift Aid tax rebate on it. Prayer and penance are very personal
things but are also a very necessary part of our Christian life. When it is
possible, we will make the Way of the Cross on a Friday morning at 9.40 am
before Mass.
SISTER ANN BATES
Congratulations to Sister Ann Bates on her Golden Jubilee.
DIOCESAN
CHOIR
The Diocesan Choir is a four-part choir, always keen to learn new material
as required. Rehearsals begin again on Thursday evenings from 11 February
in Saint Margaret’s Cathedral, Ayr to prepare for the Mass of Chrism. All
voices, especially sopranos, are welcome. Contact David Robinson on 07714
340854 for more information.
PARISH ACCOUNTS
The Parish Accounts are now prepared and have been submitted to the diocese
and to the Office of the Scottish Charities Regulator (OSCR) as required by
law. They will be submitted to the Parish Finance Committee and then made
available to you. Our parish is one of a few that is audited by external auditors
every year and the diocese has announced that this audit will be extended
to more parishes from now on. More of our financial structures, halls, clubs,
et cetera are to be subject to tighter procedures. These will be discussed
with the Finance Committee and with Fiona who is the Centre Manager.
LOURDES HCPT GROUP 376 RACE NIGHT
A Race Night will be held on Friday 4 March in the Civic Centre, Ardrossan.

June. The six speakers, men and women, include people from both the Reformed
and Catholic traditions. If you are interested, please go along. If you remember,

the poster.
THE SISTERHOOD OF SAINT ELISABETH
The Sisterhood of Saint Elisabeth is an Orthodox community in Belarus who
have asked to visit the parish again this year. They make and sell religious
icons and other things to support their work - an orphanage and psychiatric
hospital in one of the poorest parts of Eastern Europe. The Sisters will be
here on 27 and 28 February.
JUMBULANCE PILGRIMAGE TO LOURDES
There are places available for helpers and sick pilgrims - VIPs - to travel
to Lourdes on the Jumbulance Pilgrimage with the group departing from our
diocese this Eastertide. The pilgrimage is from 28 April to 7 May and is especially
suited to those unable to fly due to health reasons or for whom a smaller
group is beneficial. Full medical and nursing care is provided. For more details
or to book a place, please contact Alison Neil on 07749 555955 or amd.neil@outlook.com.
BISHOP NOLAN PASTORAL VISIT
Bishop Nolan will make a pastoral
visit to the parish over the weekend of 27 and 28 February and celebrate the
Vigil and Sunday Masses.
SAINT VINCENT DE PAUL LENTEN APPEAL FOR TOILETRIES
During the weeks of Lent the Saint
Vincent de Paul Society is once again asking the parishioners
of Saint Peter's to donate both male and female toiletries for use in the
Ozanam Centre in Glasgow. The Ozanam Centre assists the homeless, both male
and female, so any donations of either male of female toiletries would be
very gratefully received. A box will be placed in the Church porch for any
donations and we hope that we can rely on your usual very generous support.
Thank you.
BLOOD TRANSFUSION SERVICE
Please give blood at Ardrossan Civic Centre, Glasgow Street, on Wednesday
24 February from 2.00 to 3.45 pm and 5.15 to 7.30 pm and Thursday 25 February
from 4.00 to 7.30 pm.

have a second collection for Church maintenance.
ADVERTISER SUPPORT
Our advertisers would welcome your support. We are grateful for their continuing
sponsorship. We are grateful for the support of Mr and Mrs Sohal, Nisa Stores,
Glasgow Street for the weekly donation of tea, coffee and milk for the Sunday
teas.
PROTECTION OF CHILDREN AND VULNERABLE ADULTS - MISSION STATEMENT
The Catholic Church in Scotland is concerned with the lives, safety, wholeness
and well-being of each individual person within God's purpose for everyone.
It seeks to safeguard the welfare of people of all ages who are involved in
whatever capacity with
the Church and its organisations. As a Church community, we accept that it
is the responsibility of all of us, ordained, professed, paid and
voluntary members, to work together to prevent the physical, sexual, emotional
abuse or neglect of children, young people and vulnerable adults.
