ADORATION EVERY FRIDAY!
Every Friday, we have Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament after Mass from 10.30
until 11.00am, ending with Benediction. Why don't you make an appointment
with the Lord and come along? Adoration is the first attitude of man acknowledging
that he is a creature before his Creator. It exalts the greatness of the Lord
who made us and the almighty power of the Saviour who sets us free from evil.
Adoration is homage of the spirit to the 'King of Glory', respectful silence
in the presence of the 'ever greater' God - Catechism of the Catholic Church
number 2628.

CEMETERY MASS
Every year we celebrate Holy Mass in Ardrossan Cemetery for all the deceased
of our families and friends. The Mass this year will be on Sunday 3 November
at 2.00pm. Saint Monica said to her son Saint Augustine "Bury my body
wherever you will. Do not be concerned about that. One thing only I ask you,
that you remember me at the altar of the Lord."
MY
ANGEL'S NAME
Once upon a time, there was a child ready to be born. One day, he asked God
"They tell me you are sending me to earth tomorrow. How am I going to
live there being so small and helpless?" God replied "Among the
many angels, I chose one for you. She will be waiting for you and will take
care of you." "But tell me, here in Heaven, I don't do anything
else but sing and smile. That's enough for me to be happy." "Your
angel will sing for you and will also smile for you every day. And you will
feel your angel's love and be happy." "And how am I going to be
able to understand when people talk to me, if I don't know the language that
men talk?" "Your angel will tell you the most beautiful and sweet
words you will ever hear and with much patience and care, your angel will
teach you how to speak." "And what am I going to do when I want
to talk to you?" "Your angel will place your hands together and
will teach you how to pray." "I've heard that on earth there are
bad men. Who will protect me?" "Your angel will defend you even
if it means risking its life." "But I will always be sad because
I will not see you anymore." "Your angel will always talk to you
about me and will teach you the way for you to come back to me, even though
I will always be next to you." At that moment there was much peace in
Heaven, but voices from earth could already be heard. And the child in a hurry
asked softly "Oh God, if I am about to leave now, please tell me my angel's
name." "Your angel's name is of no importance, you will just call
your angel - Mummy."
JUST FOR A LAUGH …
A young woman brought her fiancée home to meet her parents. After dinner,
her father asked the young man into his study for a chat. "So, what are
your plans?" the father said. "I'm a theology scholar" the
young man replied. "Admirable" the father said "but what will
you do to provide a nice home for my daughter?" "I will study and
God will provide" the young man explained. "And how will you afford
to raise children?" the Father asked. "God will provide." said
the young man. The men left the study and the mother asked her husband "How
did it go?" "Very well - I like him. He has no money or employment
plans" the father said,. "but on the other hand, he thinks I'm God."
QUOTE FROM SAINT JOHN HENRY NEWMAN
What is the world's religion now? It has taken the brighter side of the gospel,
its tidings of comfort, its precepts of love - all darker, deeper views of
man's condition and prospects being comparatively forgotten. This is the religion
natural to a civilised age and well has Satan dressed and completed it into
an idol of the Truth. Our manners are courteous. We
avoid giving pain or offence. Religion is pleasant and easy. Benevolence is
the chief virtue. Intolerance, bigotry, excess of zeal are the first of sins.
It includes no true fear of God, no fervent zeal for His honour, no deep hatred
of sin, no horror at the sight of sinners, no indignation and compassion at
the blasphemy of heretics, no jealous adherence to doctrinal truth - and therefore
is neither hot nor cold, but, in Scripture language, lukewarm. Sermon
24, Religion of the Day
REMEMBRANCE SUNDAY

ones. Our prayers invoke God to receive our faithful departed into his heavenly
Kingdom. If you would like to have your deceased relatives and friends remembered
in our Masses during this month, please list their names on the special sheet
at the back of Church with a donation if possible and hand it back. Take a
